PATIENTS ENTERTAINED

♦ CONCERT AT PLEASANT VALLEY* SANATORIUM The executive members of the Otago , Justices’ Association, accompanied by -i Begg’s Orchestra and Concert. Party, f visited Pleasant Valley Sanatorium on } Sunday last and entertained the j patients with musical items. The or-cf chestra rendered many items which 1 pleased the patients. Items were also 1 given by Mr M. Johnson (violin solo),! Mr C. Searle, Mr E. Paris, and Master* f Ken Walker (solos), Miss Joyce Todd, (tap dancing), and Mr F. White (character song). A request item, a pianoforte solo, was given by Mr Alf Pettitt. Mr J. H. Himburg conducted the orchestra. Miss E. Duggan and Mr A. Pettitt were the accompanists. Mr W. Jacobsen, president of the Justices’ Association, thanked the matron and members of the Hospital Board for the opportunity given to the visitors to entertain those who were laid aside, and said he hoped it would not be long before they were able to come again. Mr Sheat, chairman of the Sanatorium Committee, thanked the justices and Mr J. Himburg and the members for the party for their pleasing entertainment. Miss Runciman, a member of the board, also spoke, and the chairman (Mr J. W. Dove), in returning thanks on behalf of the Hospital Board, extended to the party .an invitation to return to the sanatorium as soon as convenient.
