POSITION OF ECONOMIST MR G. LAWN'S APPOINTMENT (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 29. Mr George Lawn, lecturer in economics at Canterbury University College, will become a full-time economist to the Reserve Bank for a year from next March. The College Council at a meeting to-day granted him 12 months' leave of absence from his work at the college Appointed a director of the Reserve Bank in August of last year, Mr Lawn is a Government representative on the directorate. He has been a lecturer in economics at Canterbury College for the last 10 years. The College Council, in granting Mr Lawn leave, asked Professor A. 11. Tocker, Professor of Economics, to make provision for temporary lecturers for 1938.
