THE GRAND THEATRE
POPULAR COMEDIAN'S APPEARANCE " One long laugh from beginning to end" is a description which has been given " When's Your Birthday? " David L. Loew's hilarious comedy production with Joe E. Brown in the starring role which will be shown to-morrow at the Grand Theatre. Hilarious events and situations follow one another in swift succession in this ingenious farce, which is said to mark a new high point in the fun-making of one of the screen's most popular comedians. Completing his final prize fight for the purpose of raising money to pay for his course in astrology, the comedian goes blithely forth to seek a job. Various adventures finally lead him to a Midway concession, where he embarks on a career as a professional soothsayer, only to long for a return to his former status as a part-time prize fighter—just for a rest. His uncanny predictions gradually bring him eminence in his field, and he even finds time to fall in love. Marian Marsh is the girl in the case, and has rarely appeared to better advantage. Fred Keating makes an engaging figure of the racketeer who can do no right. Other members of the cast who do especially good work are Edgar Kennedy, Suzanne Kaaren, Minor Watson, Maude Eburne and Bull Montana. Harry Beaumont directed effectively.
