PUBLIC BEQUESTS
TAIERI WIDOWS ESTATE CANCER RESEARCH ENDOWED Mr Justice Kennedy has granted probate of the estate of Jeanie Duncan Christie, widow, Mosgiel. The estate has been valued for probate purposes at under £15,000. There is a bequest of £SOO to the East Taieri Church, made up of £4OO for general church debt and £IOO for the choir. After a number of private bequests have been met the residue of the estate is to be equally divided between the Salvation Army for its activities in Dunedin, Port Chalmers and Mosgiel, and the local branch of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society for research work in Dunedin.
