OUTSTANDING FEATURES After an extensive tour of the world in search of new wonders for their side-shows, the well-known showmen Greenhalgh and Jackson, are again in New Zealand. They will present many new acts and features in their sideshows at the Agricultural and Pastoral Association Show at Dunedin. Weighing 48 stone and standing Bft 2m high, Princess Pontuss is the last of her tribe of Amazonian headhunters. THE SNAKE MAN There arrived in Wellington by the Awatea on October 11 Pambo, one of Australia’s outstanding snake experts, with his collection of deadly Australian snakes, which includes the venomous brown, black and copperhead. Pambo has had 20 years’ experience in handling venomous snakes, and has been bitten >no fewer than 500 times during that period. He claims he has an antidote that is infallible. Much trouble and expense were necessary before Pambo was able to obtain the necessary permission to bring his collection to New Zealand. Pambo will be showing at the A. and P. Show on a specially constructed raised platform from which spectators will, in comfort, be able to look into the pit of death where he will entertain them with his strange and dangerous pets. PRINCESS ÜBANGI Visitors to the Dunedin Show will have the opportunity of seeing the smallest ruler the world has ever known, for Princess Übangi, who was recently Queen of 250,000 ant-eatmg, tree-dwelling Lilliputians of the Belgian Congo, is only 25in in height scales 391 b, and is 32 years of age. The princess is an accomplished singer and dancer, of which she will make full use during the show period. Übangi was a visitor to the recent Coronation celebrations. On her return negotiations were made by C. J. Delaney well-known Australian showman, and only after promising to return Übangi, to her tribe dead or alive, within two years. would her parents consent to her departure Special passport and other arrangements had to be made. WONDER SKATING Grace, poise, and perfect balance, combined with crazy feats of ultra daring, have already earned for Rex and Roma Roff the much-coveted Olympic honours, which were competed for by 23 nations at Berlin last year. WORLD’S TALLEST MAN Dennis O’Duffy, the Bft s£in Guardsman, the world’s tallest man, who will be appearing in person at the Dunedin Show, arrived in New Zealand by the s.s. Monterey on October 18, after appearing at the Perth Royal Show. Western Australia, which concluded on October 9. O’Duffy flew from Perth to Sydney to connect with the Monterey. O’Duffy arrived in Australia by the Themistocles. after appearing at the Johannesburg Empire Exhibition. He first appeared at the Adelaide Royal Show. Special accommodation has to be made when he travels by steamer O’Duffy is 28 years of age. and was born in Cork, Ireland. He takes size 19 in shoes and his hands are 13J inches in length. O’Duffy has appeared before 6,000,000 people, and New Zealand is the fifteenth country he has visited. MIDGET RACEHORSE London's steady tides of pedestrians were struck with astonishment when they saw a taxi halt before the Aberdeen Commonwealth Line’s building and a horse alight and walk into the lift. That tiny midget was Wee Jimmy.” The world’s smallest racehorse practically booked his own passage to Australia. The little pet is a perfect model of his big brothers racing on the turf in South America. He came originally from Buenos Aires. The horse is 10 feet 2 inches in length, is now eight years old, and is strong and healthy. He was bred in Scotland, imported to Queensland at the age of three years, and was imported to New Zealand last October. THE BOXING KANGAROO The boxing kangaroo and his manager, Mr Lindsay Fabre, will be appearing at the Oamaru Show to-day, and patrons will be afforded the opportunity of seeing this clever an ™3l box with the skill and which he displayed when making his first appearance on the screen. Since then, with his sparring partner and manager, this agile native of Australia has displayed his versatility to thousands of people all over the world, and Mr Fabre has been given an enthusiastic reception in all countries. , A Frenchman, Mr Fabre has trained his kangaroo in all departments of the sport, and the sagacity which the animal displays when engaged in combat is remarkable. After making a short film at Hollywood, Mr Fabre toured France, Germany, Turkey, China. Japan and Great Britain, and one of his most sensational appearances was f in the West End of London, where he had a week’s contract, the agreement showing that he received £SO during his appearances there. At the various places Mr Fabre wil visit while in New Zealand he win deliver addresses on kangaroos in addition to other lectures for children on the animals of the world. Mr Fabre and his kangaroo will be at the Dunedin Show on Tuesday and Wednesday next. ________
