FAITH AND ORDER

THE EDINBURGH CONFERENCE A SPIRIT OF UNANIMITY (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, Nov. 17. “Although some of the delegates expressed disappointment that the results were not more striking I was impressed with the remarkable spirit of unanimity shown generally,” said Archdeacon J. A. Jermyn, of Greymouth, who returned by the Rangitata after attending the second World Conference on Faith and Order at Edinburgh. Other delegates from the Dominion were Bishop West-Watson, of Christchurch, and Canon Percival James, formerly of Wellington. Those who had attended the first Conference on Faith and Order at Lausanne, in 1927, reported that Very distinct advances had been made in understanding between the churches, Archdeacon Jermyn said. A feature of the recent conference was the presence of a strong delegation from the Greek Orthodox and Syrian Orthodox and other Eastern churches.
