CASE THROWN OUT

A CHARGE OF NEGLIGENCE GRAND JURY RETURNS "NO BILL" (Per United Press Association) BLENHEIM, Nov. 16. " In the circumstances it is difficult to see how the driver of the truck can be held accountable for the collision," said Mr Justice Northcrofi in referring to the grand jury this morning a case against Noel Ernesl Sinclair Rose, of Blenheim, a farmei of negligently driving a motor vehicle and causing bodily injury. The case, which was the only indictable charge for the grand jury, arose out of an accident at Rapaura, when a girl named Ivory,-who ran from behind a school bus, \was knocked down by Rose's truck. " Frankly, I find some difficulty in understanding why this man has been charged at all," his Honor said, "unless the distance travelled after the collision indicates negligence through defective brakes or negli gence in controlling the truck after the collision." This, however, he indicated to be entirely irrelevant. The grand jury returned "no bill." •
