RETURNED SOLDIERS' CHOIR

As a special offering for the last concert of the season, to be given by the Returned Soldiers' Choir in the Concert Chamber on Monday next, the singers will be assisted by Miss Evelyn Hosken (harpist). It is only on rare occasions that the importunity occurs to hear this beautiful instrument. Associated with Mr Rees McConachy (violinist) and Sybil Baker (pianist), Miss Hosken will demonstrate the beauties of the harp in delightful selections. " King Olaf's Christmas," a cantata by Dudley Buck, will head the choir's selections, which also include "Dedication," by Franz, "The Blacksmith" (Brahms), "Vineta" (Hatton) the beautiful "When Evening's Twilight" (also by Hatton), an •exquisite number by Robertson " The Old Woman," the compelling "Anvil Chorus." and a solo and chorus from "The Mikado," "The Lord High Executioner." with Mr R. Duerdon as soloist Miss Ray Stubbs will make her first appearance with the soldiers, and her full, rich soprano will find adequate scope in "The Arra" (Rubenstein), "Yesterday and To-day" and "Alleluia" (seventeenth century; arranged by O'Connor Morris). Mr 6. Christie (New Zealand champion cornetist) will play a selection, and the choir soloists will be Messrs R. H. Mayfield. L. B. Borrow, R. Duerdon and C. R. Williamson. Miss Sybil Baker will be the pianist, and Mr John T. Leach will be in control.
