SHOW WEEK ATTRACTION
"THE SHINING HOUR" Visitors to Dunedin for Show Week will be fortunate in having presented for their entertainment by the Dunedin Repertory Society Keith Winter's interesting comedy-drama, "The Shining Hour?' The play will be presented for a season of four nights in His Majesty's Theatre, the dates being November 24, 25, 26, and 27. The play is a diverting study of home life under simple conditions, and is remarkable for several clear-cut and absorbingly interesting characterisations. It can be placed high in entertainment value, and appeals not alone by virtue of its interetsing characters, but also by reason of a happy combination of simple comedy subtle irony, and stark tragedy. The scene of the play is set in a Yorkshire farmhouse, and the story tells of the arrival of the wife of the eldest son into the quiet country household. How the glamorous Mariella reacts upon the members of her husband's family is told in a series of dramatic situations, working up to a most unusual climax. An experienced cast has been selected, and the production is in the capable hands of Miss Bessie Thomson. Box plans will be opened for members to-morrow and for the general public on Friday.
