ATTITUDE OF AUTHORITIES MINISTER ON DEFENSIVE ■ From Our Parliamentary Reporter l WELLINGTON, N0v..4. The attitude adopted by the Director of Broadcasting (Professor J. Shelley) towards the recent broadcast of a sermon on Communism by Father K D. Crowe was commented on by Sir Alfred Ransom (Opposition, Pahiatua) in the House of Representatives to-night. , , Sir Alfred said that a promise had been given that such a sermon would not again be broadcast. The Postmaster-general: Who said he would be cut off the air? . Sir Alfred:.. I say so. If the Minister is prepared to deny that no such instruction has been given we would be delighted to hear it. The Minister: That is a different thing. _ ... „, Mr W. J. Broadfoot (Opposition. Waitomo): Hedging again! Sir Alfred: Will the Minister state definitely that no obstruction will be placed in the way of any clergyman in future. If so, I will resume my seat and make no further comment. The Minister did not reply.
