RETURNED SOLDIERS
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The fortnightly meeting of the executive committee of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers' Association was held last night, when there were present:— Messrs C. L. Calvert (in the chair), N. R. Wilson, H. L. Paterson, A. B. Natusch, W. K. Cameron, J. M. White, G. H. Ferens. A. Duncan, H. Fiddes, and W. F. Forrester. Accounts amounting to £25 lis 3d were passed for payment. There were 11 applications for membership. One application for honorary membership and one outward transfer were approved. The report of the Finance Committee gave further details of the proposed art union. The details of the children's "Christmas Treat" were submitted and approved. Arrangements were made for a short memorial service to be held at the Cenotaph on Armistice Day. It was agreed that a wreath should be laid in conjunction with the Imperial ExServicemen's Association. It was reported that the golf tournament held on Labour Day had been a success, but that the number of entries had been fewer than last year. The opinion was advanced that Labour Day was regarded as a "family day" by many, who had consequently been unable to attend the tournament.
