WAIKOUAITI
Bowling Club A large number of visiting bowlers was present at the opening of the bowling season on Saturday afternoon, and many of them tendered the good wishes of their clubs to the president of the Waikouaiti Club (Mr I. Patterson). Mr Connor (president of the Bowling Centre), in thanking the president for his welcome, expressed regret at the Waikouaiti Club's decision to confine its games to the local clubs, thus omitting the usual visits to Dunedin greens. He trusted that this would be only a temporary measure. Mr Hinton. the club's delegate to the centre, said it was essential that the club should secure new and young members. Some 10 Dunedin clubs were represented at the opening, as well as members of all Eastern District clubs, and one visitor from a Timaru club. Mr R. M. Templeton, chairman of the Domain Board, and the Mayor (Mr A. Fell) extended good wishes for a successful season.
