FORTNIGHTLY MEETING The meeting of the City Council last night was attended by the Mayor (the Rev. E. T. Cox) Crs M. Silverstone, W. Begg, W. A. Scott, A. H. Allen, W. H. Shepherd. D. C. Cameron, P. Neilson, M.P., and W. W. Batchelor. COMMITTEE REPORTS The reports of the Electric Power and Lighting Works, Finance, Gas, Tramways, Water and General Committees were adopted. IENDERS • The tender of Leyland Motors, Ltd., of £943 10s for a bus chassis was qcccdlgcL The tender of Messrs J. D. Brodie and Co. for the purchase of two tons of scrap copper at £55 per ton was 3CC6Dt6CL Tenders for the erection of houses under the council's housing scheme were accepted as follows: —J. J. Wilson, £971; Glue Construction Company, Ltd., £1075; A. G. Goodall, £1106; A. Hicks, £915; R. Mitchell and Sons. Ltd.. £1039; D. A. Minn, £ll3B.
