THE BROADCASTING SERVICE
XO THE EDITOR
Sir,—l was keenly disappointed this evening to learn that Mr J. T. Paul was giving his weekly talks on International Affairs from the 4YO studio Was there any reason why this should be? Surely it should be well-known to the wireless authorities that the 1140 k.c. wave-length is open to.much interruption from stronger stations. In the country districts it is quite impossible to enjoy any.programmes from the weaker stations in the evenings. I would say that hundreds of others did as I did to-night—turned the machine off in disgust. . To those of us who appreciate all the thought and energy Mr Paul is called upon to spend in the preparation ol his notes, and who are interested in the big problems of the day, it is really hard to understand why such utter trash as "Bill and 'Erb" must be pushed on to long-suffering listeners, especially when really worth-while matter is.available—l am,, etc.; ,;:,-; No Cheap Record.
