J The success of the "school" for ; erring motorists is referred to by ', the chief probation officer, Mr B. L. ) Dallard, in his annual report which was presented in the House of ; Representatives to-day. " There was a considerably smaller J, number of offences dealt with by ; probation for intoxication in charge of a motor vehicle and negligent driving than in any previous year, - the report states, " and in this connection an interesting experiment has been tried by some of the magistrates making it a condition of probation that the offender shall be re-, quired to take a course of instruction in 'road courtesy and driving' under the expert guidance of officers I of the local Traffic Department.
