INDIGNATION IN FRANCE

ANOTHER VESSEL BOMBED ANCHORED AT AIRCRAFT BASE PARIS, Oct. 26. (Received Oct. 27, at 0.45 a.m.) The indignation aroused by the attack on the Ouedmellah has been intensified by news that an aeroplane repair ship owned by Air France, was bombed and machinegunned by a plane while anchored at Fornells, Minorca, which is the base for the 'French MarseillesAlgiers air route. The ship caught fire but there were no casualties. The attacker was described as a grey seaplane bearing black crosses similar to the planes that attacked the Ouedmellah. A Foreign Office communication states that after the attacks on French ships the Government has taken steps to determine the identity of the aggressors and will determine measures to meet such acts. It is also moving to' protect the Mar-' seilles-Algiers airline. It is pointed out that the Ouedmellah should have been readily recognisable as it carried prominently displayed colours. An unknown aeroplane bombed the French steamer Ouedmellah, bound from Morocco to France, with a grain cargo. The vessel was 50 miles from Barcelona. Two French destroyers hearing an S.O.S. rushed up and found the vessel holed at the water-line. They took over the crew.
