The fortnightly meeting of Court Woodlands Pride was held on Monday, October 18. In. the absence of the chief ranger (Sis. J. Cameron), the immediate past chief ranger (Sis. E Whyborn) occupied the chair, and opened the court. The woodwards gave their report, which indicated that only eight members were receiving sick pay. These claims, as submitted by the secretary, were passed for payment. The secretary of the Syllabus Committee (Bro. E. J. Patton) wrote intimating that the annual meeting would be held on Thursday, and requested that two delegates be sent on behalf of the court for the purpose of drawing up the official syllabus for the forthcoming year. The immediate past chief ranger (Sis. Whyborn) and the court secretary were appointed to represent the court. Court Robin Hood wrote extending a cordial invitation to all officers and members to attend the seventy-third anniversary and social m Port Chalmers on November 8. It was decided to accept the invitation. A special invitation was received from the Druids’ Lodges to a social and dance on November 3, when it was proposed to entertain all officers and members of Court Woodlands Pride. The district president of the Druids’ Order in his letter, intimated that all the Druids’ lodges had combined to organise the function, and expressed the hope that a large number of women Foresters would be able to see their way clear to attend. Sis. E. H. Whyborn addressed the court, and requested all officers and members to attend the function arranged by the Druids. The secretary reported having written to the District Executive notifying the special district meeting that the court wished to support the candidature of Bro. D. A. Swan for the position of district trustee. Two candidates were proposed for membership, the secretary being instructed to arrange for their examination and attendance at the next meeting.
