W.E.A. PRODUCTION
Harold Brighouse, the Lancashire playwright, wrote "Hobsons Choice which will be presented by the W.E.A. under the direction of Mrs Alisa Stephens, on November 30. The play concerns itself with the comedy of character as seen in the relations of Henry Hobson with his three daughters, his shop assistants, and several other people. The central figure, by force of her personality, is Maggie, the eldest daughter, who, seeing the makings of a man in'Will Mossop, "a marvel in the workshop,” commandeers him as a husband and proceeds to build up a separate business and, incidentally, a happy marriage.
