RIFLE SHOOTING

KIWI DEFENCE CLUB The members of the Kiwi Defenc* Rifle Club commenced the first of the championship series on Saturday'afternoon by firing 10 shots and two optional sighters at 300 yards and 500 yards. A cold southerly wind made shooting conditions very unpleasant. Owing to the dull visibility many of the scores suffered. The highest score off the rifle/ was obtained by Rifleman T. Quinn, a voung member, who made 97 out of a possible. 100—an excellent performance considering the conditions. Th» following are the scores with handicaps:— A GRADE
