DUKE OF WINDSOR
THE VISIT TO AMERICA NO OFFICIAL RECOGNITION WASHINGTON, Oct. 21. (Received Oct. 22, at 10 p.m.) Mr H. L. Ickes, Secretary of the Department for the Interior, told newspapermen that the Government was shunning official connection with the Duke of Windsor's tour. He said the Government had informed the Duke of Windsor's agents that he must work out his own itinerary and publicity. He understood that the Duke was coming incognito, and they did not want to embarrass him.
