PRICE OF WHEAT
FIXED BY GOVERNMENT THE 1937-38 HARVEST (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON. Oct. 17. The price at which the Government will purchase wheat grown in New Zealand for the 1937-38 harvest was announced to-night by the Minister o t Industries and Commerce (Mr D. G. Sullivan). The figure decided on by the Government is 5s 9d per bushel, f.ob., for Tuscan, on the March basis. Announcing the Government’s decision, the Minister said the price had been fixed only after a thorough investigation into the costs of production and farming conditions in the wheatgrowing districts.
