SOUTH OTAGO
BALCLUTHA Angling At the week-end two local anglers succeeded in getting limit bags—one on the Catlins and the other at the Pomahaka. On the Molyneux several bags of two and three fish were secured, but nothing above that. A party of four rods from Balclutha visited Tawanui, and the collective basket was a good one, the highest tally being eight trout, weighing up tp 31b. The fish were in excellent condition. Bowling The Stirling Bowling Club’s opening on Saturday attracted a good number of bowlers from other districts, Kaitangata, Balclutha. and Benhar being well represented. Mr Thomas Inglis, president of the club, welcomed the visitors and local bowlers, and Mrs Inglis rolled the first bowl. A match, President v. Vice-president, followed the green proving to be in good condition.
