LAKES OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP FERRIER SUCCESSFUL AGAIN SYDNEY, Aug. 22. (Received Aug. 22, at 5.5 p.m.) Jim Ferrier won the Lakes Open Golf Championship on Saturday for the second time, with 297, compared with his 281 last year. MIXED FOURSOMES TITLE MELBOURNE, Aug. 21. (Received Aug. 22, at 7 p.m.) The Australian Mixed Foursomes Championship was won by Ryan and Miss Shirley Tolhurst, with 77. Their opnonents, H. R. Payne and Miss J. Gardiner, returned a card of 82. SOUTH AUSTRALIAN TITLES ADELAIDE, Aug. 21. (Received Aug. 22, at 7 p.m.) L. Winser won the South Australian amateur golf title at Seaton, defeating the title-holder, Ross Sawers, by 5 and 4. This is Winser's eighth amateur title. Fergus M'Mahon. for the fifth time, won the Professional Championship, beating Rufus Stewart, the title-holder, 5 and 4.
