Frank Averill. 27-year-old flying instructor of Long Beach, California, was teaching Don Farrell to loop at 3 ; >UU feet. The plane stalled momentarily, upside down. When Farrell righted it Averill was not aboard. Farrell, shocked, flew around a bit to pull himself together, then landed Averill rushed to greet him. His safety belt had come loose, plummeting him head first out of the plane. He parachuted to safety.
