DUNEDIN GUN CLUB

"SKEET" MATCH The second "Skeet" Match of the season was held on Saturday afternoon on the Dunedin Gun Club's grounds at Green Island. The weather was fine, but a cold wind blowing across the grounds made the flight of the targets from the low trap extremely fast and low, while the targets from the high trap, which were thrown into the wind, were inclined to soar. The match was fired under the new rule which has recently been adopted by, the National Skeet Shooting Association of America. This rule alters the angle at which the targets are thrown. The match, which was of 23 birds,, the targets at station eight being omitted, was won by G. E. Turner with 22 breaks. The target he missed was the lefl hand one at station four. J. Stiven was second with 21 breaks, missing the left target at station one and the right target at .station four. R. M'Donald was third with 19 breaks, his misses being the right at station three, the right of the double at station one and the double at station two. The rest of the scores were as follows: W. Elliott 14. H. T. Weir 13 S. F. Aburn 12 and P. E. Wood 10. The next match was a nine-bird handicap, " down the line," S. F. Aburn (16yds) and J. Stiven (14yds) tied with eight breaks each, and they were followed by W Elliott seven, R. Maxwell and J. Patterson six, and W. Morland five. Mr A. Adarnson was the referee.
