MOSGIEL BOY SCOUTS
"successful concert A concert in aid of the building fund of,, the Mosgiel Boy Scouts: was held in the Coronation Hall on Saturday evening. Mr A. Steven presided. The Scouts ODened the programme with their haka and grand howl. A party from the R.S.A. Choir (Dunedin) rendered a part song, and a vocal solo was contributed by Mrs E.. W. Cate. Some of Miss Anita : Winkel's pupils delighted the audience with elocutionary items, and vocal solos were given by Miss. Ruth Sell. Miss Edna M'Lean and Mr C. R. Williamson. Mr E. W. Cate played a violin solo, and the firsi part of the programme closed with a part song by the R.S.A. Choir member? (Messrs C. R. Williamson. W. Satterthwaite. A. Moore. T. Ballantyne, O Holden. L. B. Borrow. P. Anderson. R Duerdon. L. Coughlan and E. Swan) The Scouts and Cubs opened the second part with a campflre scene and songs. The choir rendered two pari «ongs, and Misses Laura Bain and Joyce Todd danced a tap duo. " Moonbeams." Vocal solos were sung by Mrs E. W. Cate. Miss Ruth Sell Miss Edna M'Lean and Mr R. Duerdon: Mis< Anita Winkel's pupils contributed recitations, and a particularly acceptable item was a bracket of vocal solos by Miss Sell, with accompaniment by a ciuartet party. The accompanists were Miss Sybil Baker and Mr R. D. Rogers. Before the close of the concert the chairman thanked all who had helped, and appealed for support for the Scouts tri erect their hall, the site for which had been provided by the Borough Council. ~,-.',
