MR RAMSAY MACDONALD
AUDIENCE WITH THE KING RESIGNATION FROM CABINET LONDON, May 27. The King gave an audience to Mr Ramsay MacDonald at Buckingham Palace and received his resignation from the Cabinet. Contrary to earlier reports, Mr Ramsay MacDonald will not hand over his seals of office until May 28. HEREDITARY HONOUR DECLINED (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, May 27. It is reported that the King expressed a desire to recognise the services which Mr Ramsay MacDonald had rendered to the State in the course of a long number of years, and asked whether he would accept a high hereditary honour. It is understood that Mr MacDonald, while fully appreciative of the kindness and thoughtfulness of his Majesty, asked the King to permit him to decline, and that this permission was given.
