OBITUARY

MR LAMARTINE DWAN (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 28. The death has occurred of Mr Lamartine D'Keeshan Dwan, a prominent Wellington business man; aged 72. He was well known in racing circles, and owned and raced many successful horses from the Rosenea Stud. MRS W. K. HAMILTON The death of Mrs W. K. Hamilton occurred at her residence, 9 Denton street, Gore, after an illness of over seven years' duration. Born at Milton 60 years ago, Mrs Hamilton went to Gore in 1902 with her husband and young family. Although having the duties of bringing up a family of eight, Mrs Hamilton found time to give her support to the Salvation Army, in the ranks of which she held a commission, and served faithfully up to the time of her illness. Hospital visitation was one of the duties in which she found joy, and many patients will remember her cheeriness. She was ever ready to lend a helping hand to all in need, and her counsel was the means of helping many people. Mrs Hamilton is survived by her husband, five daughters and three sons. Mrs A. R. Leonard (Balcldtha), Mrs G. Thompson (Wellington). Mrs S. J. R Officer (Invercargill), Mrs F. Hay (Taumarunui). Mrs A. M. Jackman (Gore), Messrs R. O. Hamilton (Dunedin), N. W. Hamilton (Gore) and A, R. Hamilton (Gore); also by three sisters, Misses E. J. and S. A. Murphy and Mrs John Robinson (Milton).

MR FREDERICK VILLEBOIS LYSAGHT The death took place at his residence, " Benham," Geraldine, of Mr Frederick Villebois Lysaght, who had been a resident of the Geraldme district for many years. Mr Lysaght was the eldest eon of the late Mr J. R. Lysaght, who owned and farmed a large property in the early seventies at Mokoia, near Hawera, the deceased acting as manager for some years prior to going to South Canterbury In his younger days Mr Lysaght was an ardent follower of Rugby and for many .seasons played for the Hawera Football Club. He married a daughter of the late Mr J. B. Acland, of Mount Peel Station, who predeceased him a few years ago He was a keen angler and was also a member of the Geraldine Racing Club. At its meeting on Thursday evenmg the members stood in silence as,a mark of respect to the memory of the deceased.
