FARM TENANCY
THE POSITION IN AMERICA SPECIAL COMMITTEE’S REPORT WASHINGTON, Feb. 17. (Received Feb. 17, at 10 p.m.) In a message to the Congress transmitting the report of the special committee on farm tenancy, President Roosevelt said that less than half the nation’s farmers own the farms they are operating. About 40,000 farmers were added each year to the tenant class and prompt action was necessary to correct this evil. “ When fully half the farm population no longer feels secure, action to provide security is imperative.”
