OUTRAM TOWN BOARD

MONTHLY -MEETING The monthly meeting of the Outram Town Board was held on Thursday last, and was attended by the chairman (Mr James Dow) and Messrs Doherty, Hendry and Walker. A letter was received from the secretary of the Local Government Loans Board stating that the application for the Town Hall Loan of £550 would be submitted to the first available meeting of the Loans Board.

Mr J. H. Anderson’s application to terminate his fence, at the foot of Skerries Street, a few yards out from the river was held over until the board could inspect the ground. It was decided that application be made to the Chief Postmaster for an 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. telephone service on Sundays.

Mr J. A. Ferguson was the successful tenderer for municipal reserve in block X. It was decided that a yearly lease be granted Mr R. B. Neill for a strip of land on the recreation reserve between the cattle pens and the lagoon. The Commissioner of Crown Lands wrote stating that the terms and conditions submitted in respect of the domain leases were satisfactory, and the leasing proposals were approved. An application from the Dunedin Police Cricket Club for the use of the recreation reserve for a cricket match was granted.
