The Hope of Dunedin Tent met on Monday last, when, in the absence of the chief ruler, the chair was taken by D.S.F.M. Sis. A. R. Gain, who welcomed visiting members from Sobriety and Star of the South Tents. Bro. R. N. Watson received the congratulations of the tent upon his recent marriage, and was accorded musical honours. There were two initiations, and the business was dispensed with as expeditiously as possible in order to proceed with the card tournament. After a pleasant social hour of euchre, Bro. and Sis. J. Rhodes were declared the winners. The result of the half-yearly election of officers is as follows: —C.R., Sis. F. Day; D.R., Bro. W. M'Kechie; sec., Bro. A. V. Gain (re-elected); treas., Bro ; A. T. MTndoe (rejected); auditor, Bro. R. Farrant (re-elected); money steward and tent reporter. Sis. A. R. Gain: lev., Sis. W. Gerrie; guard., Sis. H. Long; juv. supt., Sis. A. Coulter; asst, supts., Sis. E. K. Gain and Bro. L. V. Gain. The office of P.C.R. was allotted to Bro. H. M'Kechnie, in order that he might complete his term of office, which was broken through sickness. Bro. A. Johnston extended an invitation to a special social function to be held at Sobriety on March 8.
