FORMER PROMINENT BOXER SEPARATION ORDER GRANTED (Per United Press Association' AUCKLAND. Feb. 5 The tragic story of a man's prolonged drinking bouts was told in the Magistrate's Court this morning before Mr W. R. M'Kean, S.M., when Florence Elizabeth May Tracey made an application against James St. Martin Tracey for .'separation, maintenance, and guardianship orders on the grounds of habitual drunkenness and failure to maintain. The marriage took place in February, 1934, and there was one child. Tracey was formerly a world figure in the boxing world and on one occasion fought,Luis Firpo. His wife gave evidence of the defendant's drinking bouts and told how he lost his job. "This man has been drinking to such an extent that his'; wife found it impossible to live with him. She has'tried to make him give it up, but he was not sufficiently great to give up drink, although he is undoubtedly fond of his • wife and child," said the magistrate. The orders as asked were made.
