SOLDIER'S VISIT

MAJOR-GENERAL SOLLY-FLOOD ASSOCIATIONS WITH DOMINION (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 5. Major-general A. Solly-Flood, who has a distinguished career in the British Army, arrived in Wellington by the Tamaroa from London and was met by Major-general SinclairBurgess and .other.officers.. general Solly-Fldod has had some association with New Zealanders in that during the war, while in command- of the 42nd Division (East Lancashire) he fought alongside the New Zealand' Division. Moreover, the Prince, of Wales's Volunteers (South Lancashire)' Regiment, formerly the 40th Regiment, is allied to the Hawke's Bay Regiment under the system of alliance .which was instituted when the; territorial system was first;started.

While inithe Dominion Major-gen-eral Solly-Flood >is to be' taken through the Hawke's Bay regimental district to Waikaremdana, Taupo, and Auckland, returning via New Plymouth to Wellington, where he is to rejoin the Tamaroa, by which he is making the round voyage. It is also planned to tender him a regimental dinner in Napier. He will go to. the South Island to visit his cousin, Lady Murray, and while he is in New Zealand he will also visit Major-general Sir Andrew Russell, who was in. command of the New Zealand Division in France.
