DROP OF 300. FEET MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED COMPANION BADLY SHAKEN (Per United Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 5. Two prominent Taranaki men were involved in a motor accident south of Taumarunui at 8 o'clock tonight. Albert Thome, manager of the Stratford branch of Newton King, Ltd., was severely injured and was taken to the Taumarunui, Hospital late to-night. The other occupant of the car. Mr Truby King, genera] manager of Newton King, Ltd., escaped with a severe shaking "Mr King and Mr Thorne were returning from a sheep fair when, between Taumarunui and Tokirima, the car left the road and plunged over a 300 ft almost sheei cliff into a gorge. Another car was following, and the occupants immediately went to the assistance of Messrs Thorne and King, who were found in the wrecked car at the bottom of the gorge. Owing to the rough nature of the country great difficulty was experienced in carrying the injured men to the road, and at a late hour tonight the ambulance had not reached the hospital.
