THE NEW POST OFFICE

;o rut EDITOR

Sir, —As the opening of Dunedin s new Post Office is drawing near, I wonder if the Mayor has forgotten the last words- of H.R.H. the Duke of Gloucester, m his speech at the laying of the foundation stone of the Post Office on January 12, 1935: “I regret I am to see no more to-day than the foundation ptone, but I hope that when the new Post Office is completed one of the Mayor’s first acts will be to place a letter addressed to me in its post box, to give me an idea ot its appearance.” _ it seems to me fitting that the first letter to be handed in at the new Post Office should be one addressed to his Royal Highness, as he did us the honour of laying the foundation stone. —I am. etc., „ M. E. W. Momington, February 3.
