EMPIRE AIR BASE
A PORTSMOUTH PROPOSAL (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Jan. 4. (Received Jan. 5, at 5.5 p.m.) The Portsmouth Docks and Airport Committee passed a new scheme for the establishment of an Empire air base at Langston Harbour for presentation to the Town Council. The estimated cost is £750,000, towards which there will be a grant of about £160,000 from the Government.
