A few weeks ago the HILLMAN Minx won first prize in the light car class and premier award for oIL classes in the 2000-mile day and night contest in the Cape-Rand-Cape Reliability Trial. NOW-IN NEW ZEALAND the HILLMAN Minx has won the 400-mile reliability trial—Dunedin to Queenstown arid back, held ,under the auspices of the Otago Automobile Association—winning the Lindis Silver Cup. The majority of competitors were driving well-known high-powered American cars— proving that the HILLMAN Minx is still the world’s first light car with big car performance. An average high speed had to be maintained in all types of country with tortuous hills and sharp bends, making allowances for stoppages on the road for cattle and sheep, easing up for bridges and no passing of other cars until corners had been rounded. The HILLMAN Minx won against them ail—with a petrol consumption in excess of 35 rn.p.g.—oil consumption, nil.
