A red hen at Memphis, Tennessee, has to be "punctured” every week to counter a strange malady which inflates it like a balloon. One day the chicken’s owner, Mr E. W. Maddox, noticed the bird was puffed out to the size of a football. He “ punctured ” her with a penknife and she became normal. Now “ Puffy." the name given to the bird, has to be deflated every week.
