MIDDLEMARCH
Strath-Taieri Collie Club | The annual meeting of the StrathTaieri Collie Club was held on Wednesday evening, and was presided over by the president, Mr R. Macauley. The balance sheet, which showed a small debit balance, was presented, and the president, moving the adoption, explained that the debit was entirely due to certain necessary improvements which had 'been carried out during the year, and which were non-recur-ring. The report and balance sheet were approved. The election of officebearers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr A. .MTCinnon; vice-presidents,-Messrs J. T. Allan, M. A. Matheson, W. Youngman; secretary and treasurer, Mr T. A. Thompson. It was unanimously agreed that in order to meet the wishes of competitors and spectators at the Strath-Taieri dog trials this season, all events be run on the same course, and that the system of single judging be adopted. Farewell Social Members of the Strath-Taieri Presbyterian Church Choir, Bible class, and Sunday school staff met on Tuesday evening to take farewell of Miss Ella Robson, who is leaving the district to enter the nursing profession. A very enjoyable social evening was spent, during which Mr Jgmes Dawson took the opportunity to make a presentation to Miss Robson on behalf of the very large number of friends present. In doing so, Mr Dawson made fitting reference to the valuable assistance which Miss Robson gave to the various organisations of the church, and assured her that she carried away with her the best and sincerest wishes of a large circle of friends for success in the profession which she had chosen.
