DAMAGES AWARDED
HOSPITAL PATIENT'S CLAIM BURNED BY HOT WATER B9TTLE (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 6. Damages amounting to £ 160 were awarded by Mr F F. Reid, S.M., to Mrs Caroline Thomas, who claimed £3OO from the North Canterbury Hospital Board. « Mrs Thomas claimed that when she was a patient in the Christchurch Hospital she was badly burned as a result of a hot-water bottle being placed on her thigh while she was unconscious. The board had paid £IOO into court.
