SWIMMING CONTROL
CRITICISM OF HEADQUARTERS NO SUPPORT FOR OTAGO (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 6. So far the Otago Swimming Centre's criticism of the New Zealand Council has fallen on barren ground. Already the Canterbury and Auckland Centres have expressed their confidence in the council and • have unanimously turned down the Otago proposal that the headquarters of the council should be changed from Christchurch. Now another centre (Hawke's Bay) has carried a motion of confidence in the council. At the meeting of the Hawke's Bay Centre, held a few days ago, the Otago proposals failed to find any support. Delegates contended that the points put forward against the council were incorrect, or only half correct, and that to change headquarters would serve no practical purpose, but would lead to disorganisation of swimming control in the Dominion.
