(Special to Dailv Times) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 6. Riccarton stables can claim a good team at the Dunedin meeting and a fair share of the prizes should come this .way. , Four Riccarton horses are engaged in the Spring Hurdles, but it is not certain that Redolent will run.. Polydora is well, as demonstrated by her. second in the Kurow Cup. Wexford Bridge is not a good jumper, but on his day he is a smart customer. Thermidor has done well since she ran second to Trench Fight at Ashburton, with Autumn Wind behind her. La France is a smart galloper, but one with at least equal prospects is Rodeur, who will be making her first appearance this week for her Southland purcliflsGrs *' Cape Gabo will not be on hand for the Maungatua Handicap, and Recollection has no form yet to commend him to notice. ■ The three-year-old Paper Slipper has plenty of weight in the Electric Handicap, but he will show up though handicapped by lack of a previous race this season. Pelmet has disappointed in her recent outings. Greek Gold has freshened up since August, and Capital looks ready for a good performance Probably Paper Slipper will be a popular pick, but the Southland gelding Bay Duke will be hard to beat on his Geraldine running, while Wild Career, a hack winner on the same course, is an improver. ' Several candidates for the M'Lean Stakes have not raced yet. Atalanta Lass is one of these, but she looks a level-headed filly, while on track work she is very smart. Lazybones, also racing for the first time, has made great progress during the last few weeks, and he may come to hand earlier than was expected. Card Player, with race experience, has gone on nicely since the John Grigg Stakes. She is only a pony, but she should get some money while the short races are on. Atalanta Lass has more scope for development.. Matoru, after his two good races at Geraldine, is certain to be fancied for the Taioma Hack Handicap, as he looks on the way to useful open class. Epic is a three-year-old of promise, but with his stamina in doubt. Top Notch, of the same age, has come on a lot since she raced in the autumn, and she may not take long to get out of hack class. D. O'Connor will ride Santoft in his hurdle engagements at Wingatui.
