OBSCENE EXPOSURE

THREE MONTHS IN GAOL (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 5. A civil engineer, Octavius George Garlick, aged 49, was sentenced in the Police Court to three months' imprisonment for wilful obscene exposure in a Queen street shop on Thursday night. He pleaded guilty. The police said that Garlick entered the Queen street shop about 9.30 and ordered sweets from a young woman who was alone on duty. He then committed the offence. An attendant called Garlick " a filthy brute." Garlick ran away and a taxi-driver who was then entering the shop chased him and gave him in charge. " My duty is to protect girls from men of this sort," said Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., in passing sentence.
