THE WEATHER
There was a brief period of sunshine early yesterday morning, but the sky was overcast for the remainder of the day. A light breeze from the southwest continued and the barometer fell sharply to 29.75 in. The maximum temperature was 60 degrees. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, Oct. 5. Summer conditions prevailed to-day. The wind was a light southerly and the weather was warm and sunny. The barometer was steady at 30.25 in all day. WELLINGTON, Oct. 5. The weather to-day was fine and sunny, with a northerly breeze freshening somewhat in the afternoon. The minimum temperature last night was 42 degrees and the maximum to-day was 61 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 5. The.weather to-day was fine, cloudy in the morning and overcast in the afternoon. A moderate east-north-east breeze was blowing. The maximum temperature was 56.9 degrees. The barometer, after falling slightly, is now steady at 29.94 in.
