ENGLAND DEFEATS INDIA SPARKLING INNINGS BY NAYUDU (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, August 18. England won by nine wickets in the cricket test against India. A mere handful of spectators saw India continue its second innings. Hussain was painfully slow, but Nayudu, using desperate measures, once ran out to drive Allen before a short-pitched ball left the bowler's hand. The ball struck Nayudu on the chest and laid him out for some minutes. Upon resuming Nayudu attacked brilliantly and saved an innings defeat. He pulled Sims for a six before Allen spreadeagled his wickets. England quickly wiped off the deficit. Barnett was very attractive.
