RAILWAY WORKER'S DEATH (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 18. At the inquest concerning the death of Benjamin Parsons, acting guard, who recently arrived from Wellington, the coroner returned a verdict that death was due to shock occasioned by haemorrhage and injuries accidentally suffered through slipping between two moving trucks while engaged in train shunting. He added that it was perfectly clear that no blame was attachable to anyone. FOUND INJURED ON ROAD (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 18. Found lying on the Great South road early this morning, John M'Donald, aged 37. a labourer, of New Lynn, was taken to the Auckland Hospital in an ambulance suffering from concussion and injuries to his back and .right hip. M’Donald had injured his thumb while working at a phosphate factory at Otahuhu shortly after midnight, and was on his way to the hospital on a motor cycle for treatment when he collided with a c&r travelling in the opposite direction., The driver did not slop, and the injured man, who was unconscious, was found by another motor cvclist about an hour later. His condition is not now regarded as serious. DEPRESSION LEADS TO SUICIDE (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 18. At the inquest on Henry Ward, aged 85, retired, who was found dead at Paraparaumu, the coroner (Mr E. Gilbertson) found that the deceased took his life by hanging on August 9, when in a depressed mental condition. Evidence was given that he was worrying about a bond into which he had entered. BODY FOUND IN LAGOON (Per United Press Association) PALMERSTON N., August 18. The body of William Harold Silver, a labourer, aged 49, was found this afternoon in a lagoon on the outskirts of the city. There were indications (hat. it was a case of suicide. FALL FROM TRAMCAR As a result of falling off a tramcar at the corner of Bridgman street and King Edward street yesterday morning. Ronald Dickson, aged 21 years, a single man. residing at 21 M’Bride street, South Dunedin, received concussion and was admitted to the Hospital at 8.45. CYCLIST INJURED Concussion and injuries to the left knee were received by Charles HodgIcinson. aged 18, residing at Alma. North Otago, when he was knocked off his cycle by a motor car at the corner of King and Hanover streets last night. He was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 10.45.
