EGYPTIAN WHEAT
MEASURES TO AVERT SLUMP GOVERNMENT GUARANTEES „ ALEXANDRIA, June 17. In order to avert a slump in the wheat market the Egyptian Government is guaranteeing banks giving advances on wheat. It is officially stated that it is not intended to raise prices artificially, but merely to stop panic, consequent on the arrival of the new crop before the old crop is disposed of.
