ITALY’S APPROVAL

RESTORATION OF HAPSBURGS PURELY INTERNAL AFFAIR ARCHDUKE’S PROMISES (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, June 18. (Received June 18, at 9.40 p.ra.) A Vienna message states that Italy does not object to the restoration of the Hapsburg dynasty to the throne of Austria. According to the Reichspost, Italy approves, and even emphasises, that the restoration question is purely an,internal Austrian affair, because no international treaty prevents Austria from choosing her own form of Government. As a monarchical country and a friend of Austria, Italy will understand all the decisions of the Austrian people, whether other countries arc pleased or not.

The Archduke Otto, in a letter to Austria from his Belgian exile, promises to bridge over all class antagonisms when be is restored to the throne. “As a true Hapsburg,” he says, “ I will make sacrifices in my Austria.”
