ENORMOUS INCREASE
AMERICA’S PUBLIC DEBT SUM SWELLED BY BONUSES WASHINGTON, June 17. (Received June 18, at 5.5 p.m.) A Treasury statement reveals a record public debt of 114,331,355.000 dollars, compared with 28,700,000,000 at June 15, 1935. The financing of the veterans’ bonus is partly responsible for the increase.
