FATAL MOTOR SMASH
WOMAN KILLED OUTRIGHT ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED (Peb United Press Association) ASHBURTON, Juno 18. A woman was killed and another was seriously injured in a collision on the Main South road near Winslow last evening, the victim being Mary Emily Lowe, single, aged 27, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. T. Lowe, of Hinds. Mrs G. H. Farrell, of Hinds, sister of Miss Lowe, suffered a fractured skull, and is in hospital in a serious conditon. The car, which was, driven by the deceased’s brother, Thomas Peter Lowe, also contained his father and mother and Miss Watson, of Hinds. It collided with a car driven by Delacy Cameron, a commercial traveller. Cameron’s car was first deflected from its course by a slight collision with, a third car driven by William H. Simmonds, of Lowcliffe. Lowe was travelling behind the latter. The whole side of Lowe's car was stripped off. It is thought that Miss Lowo was killed instantly.
